As the world looks toward the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles, we are celebrating this global moment early with our 2025 Olympic-Themed Spring Camp, where art, culture, and creativity come together in full force. 🎨

Day One: A Journey to Ancient Greece 🇬🇷

We began the camp by traveling back in time to Ancient Greece, the birthplace of the Olympics. Through myth, movement, and art, campers explored the original Olympic games - celebrating strength, honor, and creative ritual. From sculpting laurels 🍃 to imagining their own Olympic events 🏅, the day was a full immersion into history and heritage.

From Then to Now: The Modern Olympic Spirit ✨

After grounding ourselves in the roots of the Ancient Olympics, we launched forward into the evolution of the Games and the innovations that shaped the modern world. Our campers journeyed through key discoveries and breakthroughs from 1896 to 1932, a period that marked the rebirth of the Olympic Games - and sparked global progress through imagination and invention.

The Power of Red: The Olympic Torch Project 🔴

Next, we explored the power of red - a color that symbolizes protection, vitality, and immortality across cultures. Campers created their own versions of the Olympic torch, not just as a symbol of sport, but as a flame of spirit and inner power. It was a powerful visual expression of our shared strength and the light we carry into the world. 🔥

Progress in Motion: The Invention of the Airplane 🛩️

From the symbolism of the torch, we shifted into another kind of human breakthrough: the invention of the airplane. Students dove into the story of the Wright brothers ✈️ and the dream of flight - connecting it to their own power to dream, create, and lift off. Through immersive art projects, they captured not just the mechanics of flight, but the emotional and imaginative courage that progress requires. 🚀

Invisible Discoveries: The X-Ray Project 💡

As we explored the era from 1896 to 1932, marking the kickoff of the modern Olympic Games, we introduced another groundbreaking innovation of the time: the X-ray. Campers learned how this invisible technology changed science and medicine - and used layered materials and transparency techniques to create their own artistic interpretations of X-ray visuals. It was a moment of seeing the unseen, and understanding how progress often begins with a shift in perception.
